International Congress on Earth Science

2019

Dear Colleagues of the Earth Sciences world,

Following the big success of the 1st Congress (ICES 2017) of this series, it is a great pleasure to invite you to the 2nd International Congress on Earth Sciences in SE Asia (ICES 2019). Universitas Padjadjaran (UNPAD) and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) extend their warmest welcome to all international Earth-scientists and researchers to participate in our ICES 2019. The Congress will be held between the 18th – 20th November 2019, in Bali, Indonesia.

Our aim is to establish this series of Congresses, which will have a profound and uninterrupted impact in the field of Earth Sciences, including traditional and fast-rising, modern scientific topics, in the region of SE Asia. Moreover, we aspire to create a solid scientific platform for Geoscientists in SE Asia and beyond, to exchange ideas and foster a network for meaningful and effective collaborations.

Selected papers (from oral and poster presentations including ePoster) from ICES 2019 will be published in Special Issues of Scopus-indexed Journals, aiming to gather a bunch of peer-reviewed publications on the new advances on Earth Sciences.

The Organising Committee look forward to seeing you in Bali.

Sincerely,

Eleonora Agustine
Chair of the Organising Committee of ICES 2019

Basilios Tsikouras
Co-Chair of the Organising Committee of ICES 2019

Destination,
Nusa Dua Bali, Indonesia.

Nusa Dua, the home of this year’s International Congress on Earth Sciences in Southeast Asia, is located in the southern part of Bali, 20 kilometres from the provincial capital, Denpasar. Nusa Dua means two islands, as in the 2 small islands off the coast of the Peninsula. Nusa Dua is an enclave of luxury hotels, restaurants, spas, golf courses, etc, besides many other cheap thrills.

The landscape
of Bali is famously made of volcanoes, lush jungles and scenic beaches and reefs. Mount Agung, an active volcano, is the highest peak at more than 3000 metres. To adventurous travelers, Bali is synonymous with mountain hiking, jungle trekking, snorkeling, scuba diving, etc.
