On the 3rd February 2018, the Faculty of Science jointly organised an international symposium on the theme ‘Ethnobotany in the Quran and Hadith – An Exploration’, bringing together botanists from all over the world to share and exchange ideas as well as to present the most recent advances in botanical topics relevant to the Qur’an and Hadith.
Applied physics students learned about the management of aviation safety during their placement with the Department of Civil Aviation in Brunei.
Dr. Nasreen Peer and Dr. Nelson Marinda, from the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University, South Africa, visited FOS to work with Associate Professor Dr. David Marshall and graduate students. Their research draws from the natural high biodiversity of marine gastropods in Brunei.
The Faculty of Science organised a joint symposium between Osaka University and other higher education institutions in Brunei Darussalam focusing on the central theme of “Innovation in Science and Technology” as part of the faculty’s initiative to encourage national and international collaborations.
Dr. Ferry Slik, an associate professor in the Environmental and Life Sciences programme, collaborated with an international team of 185 researchers from around the world to classify the world’s tropical forests according to their evolutionary history.
