Professor Mohammed Zourob from Alfaisal Univesity, Saudi Arabia visited Faculty of Science, UBD and delivered a talk entitled ‘An integrated and rapid biosensors for Bimedical, environmental and food applications‘ on 22nd June 2019. Professor Mohammed Zourob obtained his Ph.D from the Department of Instrumentation and Analytical Science at the University of Manchester, United Kingdom in 2003.
Prof Zourob has published more than 130 scientific papers in peer-reviewed journals and thirteen patents. He has edited seven books in areas of chemical biosensors, microarrays and lab on a chip. His presentation presented his research group’s projects on various optical, electrochemical and colorimetric biosensing platforms. His talk was chaired by the Dean of Faculty of Science and moderated by a Chemical Sciences Programme lecturer, Dr Natasha Ann Keasberry. His one-hour lecture was attended by a number of academics, graduate and undergraduate students from UBD. After his talk, Prof Zourob also visited UBD’s Biosensors laboratory and discussed various projects for future collaboration and student exchange.
