16th Asian Chemical Congress in Dhaka, Bangladesh

The 16th Asian Chemical Congress was held on the 16-19th March 2016 in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The major biannual conference was organised by Bangladesh Chemical Society under the auspices of the Federation of Asian Chemical Congress (FACS).

FACS is the main organization representing chemistry in the Asia Pacific region and comprises of 31 chemical societies. The theme of the conference was “Chemistry for Humanity” which included various topics such Analytical chemistry, Environmental, Materials and Industrial Chemistry.

Dr Mohammad Hilni bin Harun Sani, a lecturer in Chemical Sciences, was invited to attend the General Assembly for FACS and he also gave an oral presentation titled “Characterisation of Mixed-Metal Oxides prepared by Hydrothermal Synthesis”.

The opening ceremony was held at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel and the technical sessions were held at Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). The conference closes with a cultural performance and conference dinner at University of Dhaka.
