Greetings from the Faculty of Science (FOS), Universiti Brunei Darussalam. I am pleased to share our faculty newsletter for September 2018. FOS continues to develop via research and academic activities of our staff and students, and we are excited to share these highlights with you. Faculty of Science research highlighted during Convocation Festival 2018 Launch

On the 16th August 2018, His Royal Highness the Crown Prince Duli Yang Teramat Mulia Paduka Seri Pengiran Muda Mahkota Pengiran Muda (Dr) Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah officially launched the Convocation Festival 2018. The ‘Pesta Konvo’ held at UBD's Botanical Research Centre showcased some ongoing research projects from the Faculty of Science.

FOS Geosciences project funded by ASEAN Corporate Social Responsibility Fund


The ASEAN CSR Vision 2020 Small Grants Fund is offered by the ASEAN CSR Network (ACN) to promote Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and with an interest to link their work to regional objectives.

Erasmus+ International Mobility Program between UBD and University of Patras


The program sees exchange between FOS Geology MSc student and Ms Alkmini Tzoumaka from University of Patras, Greece, both of whom gets the opportunity to work in each university’s research laboratories.

Chemical Sciences Researchers in 2nd joint symposium between Osaka University and Bruneian Higher Education Institutions in Japan

Osaka University hosts delegates from Bruneian higher education (HE) institutions during the 2nd joint symposium. The visit was held as part of OU’s initiative for international collaboration on areas of Halal Science.

Chemical Sciences’ Researcher receives 2018 Publons Award



Dr. Mohammad Mansoob Khan, a Senior Assistant Professor from the Chemical Sciences Programme, Faculty of Science (FOS), has been awarded the Publons Peer Review Award for 2018 for his contribution towards scholarly peer review and international editorial pursuits.
