UBD Lecturers as Judges at PTET Youth Science Symposium



On 25th January 2016, Tutong Sixth Form Centre (PTET) organised the 2nd youth science symposium. Three UBD lecturers from Faculty of Science, AP Dr David John Marshall, Dr James Robert Jenning and Dr Mohammad Hilni bin Harun Sani, were invited to be the judges during the event. Five year 13 students delivered 10-15 minute presentations on inter-disciplinary areas of science, following the theme of the event “How Science Solves Modern Global Challenges”. The event started with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah followed by welcoming remarks by Bryan David Haysum, the Head of Science at PTET. Teo Zhi Perng was named the best presenter, followed by Md Amirul Maidin and Maimunah Fa’izun Hj Abdul Rahman as the first and second runners-up respectively. The event was concluded with a closing remarks delivered by AP Dr David John Marshall, and prize presentation to the winners and judges.
