FOS academic publishes new book and has work featured on the cover of journal Biomaterials Science

The cover of Associate Professor Dr Mohammad Mansoob Khan’s new book, Chalcogenide-Based Nanomaterials as Photocatalysts.

A book entitled Chalcogenide-Based Nanomaterials as Photocatalysts, edited by Associate Professor Dr Mohammad Mansoob Khan of the Chemical Sciences programme, was published by Elsevier in April 2021.

The book includes sections on the control of nanostructures, synthesis methods, strategies for activity enhancement, and environmental applications of chalcogenide-based nanomaterials. The book also offers guidelines for designing new chalcogenide-based nanoscale photocatalysts at low cost and with high efficiency for the efficient utilization of solar energy in the areas of energy production and environmental remediation. In a testament to the quality of Dr Mansoob’s research, his other recent work on the green synthesis of CeO2 and Zr/Sn-dual doped CeO2 nanoparticles with photoantioxidant and antibiofilm activities was selected for the cover artwork of the high-impact journal Biomaterials Science, which is published by the Royal Society of Chemistry and has a Clarivate Analytics Journal Impact Factor (IF) of 6.83. Dr Mansoob is a prolific author and recognized expert in the field of nanomaterials. Among other activities, he is currently acting as Guest Editor for special issues entitled “Role of Nanotechnology/Nanomaterials in Automotive Industry” and “Multi-Anion Photocatalysts: Syntheses, Characterization and Applications” in the journals Applied Science (IF 3.68) and Frontiers in Chemistry (5.22).
